Network Scanner
This function continuously monitors the selected Network checking for device disconnections, new devices added, threshold data from SNMP MIB data fields, and Traps. The scan engine uses Ping and ARP to detect the presence of devices and SNMP to get information about the hierarchy of the network.  

Relational Database
The IntraVUE™ product includes a licensed copy of MySQL™, a relational database engine. MySQL™ is automatically loaded on the IntraVUE™ host as part of the installation process. IntraVUE™ uses this database to store scanned information, administrator configurations, and event data.

User Interface
The user interface is a patented technology called the “Star Tree”, developed by Inxight Incorporated. This technology utilizes a hyperbolic visualization methodology that allows a very complex network to be displayed on a single screen. This visualization is integrated into a java Applet that is sent to the Client device. The applet is updated on a periodic basis to allow the most current information to be displayed on any client browser.

IntraVUE Host (Server) Requirements:

• 633Mhz Pentium II class PC or better

• 512 MB RAM

• 150 MB available hard disk space (minimum)

• 800 MB available hard disk space to hold all help and video files.

• 10/100base-T Ethernet Network Interface Card

• Optional: mail server or access to mail server

• Optional: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to record server power outages.

IntraVUE Client Application Requirements:

• Runs on Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 and above

• Sun’s Java® Runtime Environment plug-in (JRE Version 1.4.0 or better) must be installed and availability is triggered by IntraVUE™

• Client machine must have LAN access to IntraVUE™ host

Managed Devices (Switches, etc):

• Support for SNMP Version 1.0 and Bridge MIB must be active.

• Read Community name must be known and configured.
