The RuggedSwitch™ RS900 series managed
Ethernet switch equipped with the "HI" Voltage power supply option
only, has been approved as a component for Hazardous
Locations environments Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D.
The approved RS900 is rated to operate with a T6 temperature code
rating at 40°C ambient, or a T4A rating at 85°C ambient.
Class I, Division 2 environments are defined as
locations:

Where volatile flammable liquids or gases or
vapors exist, but are normally confined in closed containers.

Where ignitable concentrations of gases
vapors or liquids are preventable by positive mechanical
ventilation
-
Adjacent to Class I, Division 1, location
and ignitable concentrations might be occasionally communicated.
In meeting the requirements for Hazardous
Locations the RS900 equipped with the high voltage supply option has
met the following standards:
