| The 8000 RDI-132 digital input module
provides the capability of monitoring 32 optically isolated channels
of 12-24 VAC or VDC input points under the supervision of a Square D
Company SY/MAX® Model 300 through 700 processor. The module is
packaged in a steel case and plugs directly into a register slot to
provide very high density I/O.
In addition to its digital input capability, the 8000 RDI-132 has
onboard addressable registers that can be used as 4 high-speed (15
kHz) counters. These counters are typically used to keep track of
count information (up to 9999), which the SY/MAX® processor cannot
accomplish due to scan time and remote I/O communication delays.
Each counter may be controlled by the processor to count up or down,
to be reset or held, or to be preset. The four counters may also be
configured as two quadrature counters for use with 2-phase encoders.
On the front of the module are 2 columns of 16 red LED
indicators, each of which corresponds to 1 of the 32 input points.
Each LED illuminates when an input is read as ON by the onboard
microprocessor.
The module requires no external power to operate as it draws its
power from the SY/MAX® power supply connected to the rack. Two
removable terminal strips allow quick replacement of the module by
eliminating the need for rewiring. |
